Delivery of SMS 8 Mobile Manure Separator

Borculo – 15 January 2026. Recently, Loonbedrijf Almen-Harfsen put a new SMS 8 mobile manure separator into operation. With this investment, the contracting company replaces its existing installation and once again deliberately opts for a reliable and operationally secure solution from Slootsmid.

Mobile and Highly Maneuverable Installation

The SMS 8 is designed as a fully mobile manure separation system. Thanks to its steered tandem axle, the installation can be easily moved with a tractor and is highly maneuverable on the farmyard. Its own power supply allows the installation to be operated independently of external utilities. This makes the SMS 8 particularly suitable for use at multiple livestock farms.

Powerful FAN Screw Presses

The installation is equipped with eight FAN screw presses with vibration motors, which are centrally fed from an inlet hopper. This configuration ensures a high and constant capacity of approximately 80 to 100 m³ of slurry per hour. The separated solid fraction has a dry matter content of 30 to 35 percent and is efficiently discharged via a 180-degree swiveling discharge auger, with a discharge height of up to 4 meters.

The SMS 8 mobile manure separator features eight FAN separators operating in parallel to ensure a stable and continuous separation process.

Complete and User-Friendly Solution

The SMS 8 features its own inlet and outlet pumps. The incoming manure is pre-treated with a Slootsmid cutting filter, ensuring a trouble-free process and optimal separation. Operation is clear and intuitive via a modern HMI touch panel, which also allows real-time monitoring of process data and performance.

Circular Bedding Material

The solid fraction released during manure separation is ideally suited for use as cubicle bedding. It results in dry, comfortable, and resilient cubicles and provides a sustainable and cost-saving alternative to straw and sawdust.
