Grassland injectors
Slootsmid Grassland injectors are renowned for their excellent fertilization performance. The injectors are suitable for various types of grassland and available in different working widths. The SK-2 grassland injector is a reliable model with working widths from 4.20 to 6.60 metres, part of the Slootsmid range since 1993. For more intensive use and higher capacity requirements, the SZB Grassland injector is the perfect choice, available in working widths from 5.80 to 7.20 metres. This injector can also be equipped with a reinforced disc without coulter, known as the SBS version, designed for use on cereal fields or land with cover crops. In 2023, Slootsmid introduced the Major injector, a Grassland injector specially developed for professional users. The Major features a robust coated frame and is available in working widths of 8.00, 8.65, or 9.40 metres. It ensures perfect slurry distribution and optimal ground contour following. The SV and SVDV trailing shoe injectors are ideal for peat and clay soils, where grooves in the soil are undesirable. Unlike traditional Grassland injectors, the trailing shoe system applies slurry on top of the soil between the grass, rather than injecting it into the ground. The SV injector is available in working widths from 5 to 9 metres, while the SVDV offers 12 and 15 metres. Almost all Slootsmid injectors can be equipped with a Drag Hose system, including Hose Reels, and Pump Units. Choose Slootsmid Grassland injectors and experience the benefits of advanced fertilization technology.

Slootsmid Grassland Injectors – Low-emission, accurate and designed for every type of sward
Grassland slurry application requires equipment that applies slurry with low emissions, high precision and optimal utilisation in the sward. Slootsmid grassland injectors are engineered to deliver maximum crop response, minimal nutrient losses and reliable root uptake in grassland systems. With a choice of Greenland injectors, trailing shoe injectors and greenland injectors, every dairy farmer, arable farmer or contractor can select a solution that matches their soil type, slurry type and operating conditions.
Our injectors are available in multiple working widths and capacity classes, offering suitable solutions for both farmers operating their own tanker and contractors who require high output, strength and speed.
Grassland Injectors – Maximum emission reduction and accurate slurry placement
Sward injectors are the most effective option for achieving the lowest possible emission levels. The injector opens the sward and places the slurry directly into the slit, significantly reducing ammonia emissions and promoting optimal nutrient uptake by the crop.
A robust frame, consistent downforce per element and hydraulic shut-off valves ensure precise injection depth under all conditions – even at higher working speeds or in varying soil structures.
Advantages of Slootsmid Grassland injectors
-
Slurry applied directly under the sward → minimal emissions
-
Consistent working depth for maximum nutrient efficiency
-
Available in multiple working widths
-
Suitable for both umbilical and tanker application
Coulter Applicators – Maximum emission reduction and precise slurry placement
Coulter applicators are the best choice for farms aiming for the lowest possible emission levels. The coulters open the sward and place the slurry directly into a narrow slit, significantly reducing ammonia emissions and promoting efficient nutrient uptake by the crop.
Thanks to the heavy-duty frame, consistent downforce on each element and hydraulic section shut-off, slurry is always placed at the correct depth, even at higher working speeds or under varying soil conditions.
Benefits of Slootsmid Coulter Applicators
-
Slurry applied directly into the slit → minimal emissions
-
Consistent working depth and optimum nutrient efficiency
-
Available in multiple working widths
-
Suitable for both tanker systems and umbilical application
Greenland Injectors – For diverse crops and mixed forage systems
For farms operating across several types of grassland, such as species-rich meadows or grass/clover mixtures, Slootsmid offers dedicated greenland injectors. With extra ground clearance, a strong frame and flexible coulter configuration, they are suitable for a wide range of conditions.

Grassland injectors
What is a grassland injector and what is it used for?
A grassland injector is a machine that applies slurry accurately and with low emissions on or into the grass sward. Depending on the injector type, this is done with a coulter applicator, a slit-injection system or a precision unit. A grassland injector ensures a clean sward, improved nutrient utilisation and reduced emissions, enabling farmers and contractors to fertilise their fields efficiently and crop-friendly.
How do I choose the right grassland injector for my farm?
When selecting a grassland injector, consider the following:
-
Working width
-
Frame design and robustness
-
Weight and required tractor power
-
Type of outlets and application technique
-
Compatibility with umbilical systems
For personalised advice, contact Slootsmid. We are happy to help you find the injector that best fits your operation.
