SBS Grassland injector

The SBS injector is highly suitable for various terrains such as grass and cereal fields. This injector was developed to address the need for fertilization on loose soil, such as in clay and peat pasture areas, without disturbing the sod. The machine requires minimal pulling force and enables precise application of a small amount of manure.

The SBS slurry injector is specially designed for fertilising both grass and cereal fields. The slurry injector is fitted with a hard-faced disc and hydraulic shut-offs. This slit coulter slurry injector is available in three working widths, from 580 cm to 720 cm.

Well-considered construction

The SBS grassland injector has a well-considered main frame design of sheet steel and a low tare weight. The duo elements follow tracks and soil, which means that the injector requires less tractive force, giving rise to lower fuel consumption. The duo element reduces the number of pivot points, resulting in reduced wear and savings on maintenance costs. The slurry outlets of the element are spaced at 18 cm intervals, and the pre-cutting discs are fitted with greaseable bearings.

Good distribution

The Slootsmid distributor is placed high and ensures precise distribution over the entire working width. Together with the unique continuous hoses with steel spiral and 50 mm inner diameter, this helps to ensure perfect flow and prevents blockages. When the injector is raised, the discharge rubber is mechanically sealed automatically. Hydraulic shut-off valves are available as an option, allowing for section sealing.

Optimal slurry utilisation

Thanks to the thin disc, the slurry injector enters the soil with little pressure, even under the toughest conditions. The slender coulter makes a rectangular groove, and the unique rubber discharge nozzle ensures good filling of the groove without splashing. This ensures shallow injection of the fertilisers, where they are put to optimal use. The spring tension on the elements can be adjusted so that the slurry can be injected into the soil at the appropriate depth. The thin disc also ensures minimal damage to the sod so that the grass can recover quickly after injection.

Universal linkage

As standard, the SBS slurry injector is fitted with a Slootsmid 3- or 4-point linkage, making it easy to hitch and unhitch. The slurry injector can be fitted behind almost any brand and type of tanker.

Safety

The SBS satisfies all road traffic requirements and has a robust and clear light bar. The injector has a mechanical or hydraulic transport lock. When the injector is folded up, the other elements are shielded. Thanks to the compact design, the dimensions are usually within the width of the tanker or self-propelled unit.

Frequently asked questions

Which farms or fields are best suited for the SBS?

The SBS injector is ideal for dairy farms and contractors applying slurry on grass and cereal land, including soft soils such as clay or peat. It does not damage the sward, requires low pulling power and is perfect for small slurry applications.

Thanks to its elevated distributor, continuous hoses and adjustable spring tension, it delivers excellent distribution and reliable operation. Optional hydraulic shut-off valves and section control are available.

How do I determine the right working width for my farm?

The right working width depends on your fields, tractor power, and capacity requirements.

Large, straight fields → wider injector = higher capacity.
Small or irregular fields → compact injector = better manoeuvrability.

Always match the working width to your slurry tank or drag hose system.
Our specialists are happy to advise you on the width that best suits your operation.

What is the weight of the different versions?

The SBS Grassland Injector is available in various models.
The weight varies depending on the working width:
SBS 580-2 (5.76 m): 1,300 kg
SBS 650-2 (6.48 m): 1,560 kg
SBS 720-2 (7.20 m): 1,800 kg
