Decanter

With a Slootsmid decanter, animal manure and digestate can be separated into solid and liquid fractions. Decanters operate based on centrifugal force, which separates particles with a high specific gravity. This makes the technique particularly suitable for removing phosphates with the solid fraction, while retaining nitrogen on the farm in the liquid fraction. The nitrogen-rich liquid fraction is highly suitable as a natural fertilizer. Slootsmid has over 15 years of experience in building both stationary and mobile manure separators based on a decanter centrifuges. Slootsmid exclusively uses GEA decanters and has entered into an exclusive partnership with GEA for the Dutch market.

GEA decanters are made from high-quality materials and are known for their high separation efficiency. The high drum speed generates G-forces that ensure maximum dewatering. The most critical parts of the decanter are protected against wear, resulting in a longer lifespan and lower maintenance costs. GEA decanters are available in various capacities, ranging from 1 m³/hour to 300 m³/hour.

Mobile Manure Separator

Slootsmid produces both stationary decanter-based systems and mobile decanter solutions. The mobile manure separator can be built into a shipping container or mounted permanently on a trailer. These systems are equipped with a generator, intake and discharge pumps, a cutting filter, and a discharge auger to be self-sufficent and operate fully autonomously. The components are carefully coordinated to ensure optimal utilization of the decanter’s capacity. In addition, platforms and lifting aids are engineered as part of the structure, and the control room is equipped with positive pressure and climate control. Due to the application of proven techniques and solid construction, the manure separators offer high operational reliability and long maintenance intervals. All systems are delivered fully CE-certified.

This highly complete mobile decanter was custom-built and delivered to a German manure processor. The power supply is provided by a 220KVA SDMO Stage V diesel generator with an extra-large tank, and the entire system can also be connected to mains power for operation without the generator.

  • Galvanized 13-meter trailer
  • 250 kVA Stage V generator
  • Stainless steel control room with positive pressure and air conditioning
  • Mobile feed pump with Slootsmid cutting filter
  • 7-meter discharge auger, rotatable 180 degrees

An extremely well-conditioned control room with a positive pressure system ensures the longevity of the electronics. The entire system can be controlled remotely in real-time via mobile phone, PC, or tablet. The decanter is powered by a Slootsmid mobile pump unit, equipped with a Börger PL300 pump and a Slootsmid SF6E macerator, allowing the feed pump and machine to be placed up to 50 meters apart.

With the GEA CF6000 decanter, the manure is centrifuged into solid and liquid fractions using high G-forces. The liquid fraction is discharged via a Börger CL390 pump, and the solid fraction is removed by a powerful Slootsmid auger system. This system consists of three discharge augers, the last of which is a 7-meter auger that rotates 180 degrees and can be adjusted in height, with a discharge height of approximately 4.5 meters. The foundation of this system is a fully galvanized H&W 3-axle trailer, equipped with six stabilization points, hose supports, and a storage box under the loading floor. Along the entire length of the trailer, a foldable walkway with stairs and railing is installed.

Additionally, the system comes with various options, including a 3,000-liter clean water tank with rinse pump and pressure washer. The frame is smartly designed to accommodate an extra IBC tank on the system. A hydraulic unit, compressor, and loading ramp with winch make this system highly complete. With an additional mobile Slootsmid pump unit, the system’s capacity can be fully utilized.
