Benefits of row sowing injection

Several demo fields established in recent years have shown that in most cases the use of row sowing injection rather than artificial fertiliser results in equal or higher yields under normal growing conditions.

So savings can be achieved by not using artificial fertiliser (no maismap fertiliser required). Remaining manure application rights can be used on other plots.

The Slootsmid SRB row sowing injector works as follows:

1. The disc coulters open a slot on both sides of the maize row.
2. The slurry is applied approx. 8 cm to either side of the maize row via rubber discharge nozzles.
3. The Slootsmid rotor distributor ensures even distribution of the slurry to all the elements.
4. The hydraulic shut-off valves are operated from the controls for the slurry tanker and/or slurry injector.
5. The turbine of the seed drill is driven by a hydraulic motor instead of the PTO shaft.
